Just to let you fellow Phazer II owners know what I went through. One of my 90 Phazers had sat for a couple of years with only about 2 hours each year of running. This year got it out and it didn't want to run right. Spittin, sputterin, backfiring. Drained the gas and put new in, new plugs twice, disabled the TORS system, pulled and cleaned the carbs and still no luck. The last few days it would idle but you could tell something was not right. Then it developed a case of even touching the throttle and it would just act like it was flooded (bogging). Finally threw on a spare used CDI unit and it's like a new sled.
I swore it was a carb/fuel problem but obviously not. Just a little info to pass along for you.

If I hadn't of had the spare CDI, I probably would've had the carbs off for about the 14th time. I even tried one of those cheapy in-line spark testers. Had a steady dim flashing light and an occasional bright flash but engine didn't change pitch or RPM during this. Plus, I haven't tried it on a good setup yet for a baseline, (silly me)....
