i just picked up an RX-1 151 skid and am going to instal it on my 01 SRX very soon. ive dealt with changing skids, tracks, drivers and gears all before but have never attempted to try squeezing the largest paddled track possible under an SRX without having to get a rolled chaincase..ive already removed those two square bars that protect the foward heat exchanger...and my question is: what kind of drivers and gearing would allow me to run a 2 inch paddle or larger and still have decent gearing and top speed ?
Thanks
eric

1.75" lug is biggest that will fit with 9 tooth drivers. You can go to a 2.00" if you go to 8 tooth drivers but gearing, speedo drive problems all come into play.

thanks dropping to 8 tooth drivers well be what i end up doing.....what gearing would be needed to compensate for the drop in driver to an 8 in order to make it fun for the mountains? would it still be a fun ride with just changing drivers and not gears...what would my top speed be like?mrviper700 said:1.75" lug is biggest that will fit with 9 tooth drivers. Multiply your current 9 tooth set by, 1.13
For example 20/39 gears would be 1.95 in 9 tooth. 1.95 X1.13 = 2.19 ratio with 8 tooth's
If your going from a short track to a 151", your going to want to gear down anyway. Big tracks and tall gear's = lot's of belt heat!
