I purchased a nice used holeshot skidplate for my 94 VMAX 600 and do not know what size rivets I need to install it.

Mike.....I installed a Holeshot on my SRX several years back....I used the rivets that came with the kit itself....and they lasted ONE ride before they pulled out.......I then went to the hardware store and installed stainless machine screws with lock nuts and a large washer on the back side.......and its held up great ever since........I wouldn't recommend using rivets .....go with the screws........on the bottom....where it mounts to the aluminum underbelly......I just drilled and tapped holes in the aluminum.....and used stainless machine screws on those as well.....doesn't hurt to use a little loctite .......I've ran in 1600 miles and its never came loose on me yet.
I've used machine screws as well but only for the top two holes in front.
I use SS button screws with a allen head and a slightly larger washer on the outside and a SS fender washer with a lock nut on the inside.
3/16" rivets will work for mounting under the sled. I would recommend that you get the rivets used for mounting the snow flap from the dealer. These have a large diameter button that's good for holding plastic. You could also use the rivots that are specified for attaching the belly and side panels.
This is what I've used on my sled for 4 or 5 years and never had an issue.

3/16 rivet with a STEEL nail and a back-up washer should last a lifetime. Aluminum nail rivets don't pull tight enough.

1/4" button head screws and bolts, some with fendwer washers some with regular washers. forget rivets!
