Help Guys, My Yammi has been a Lemon so far
I have a 2000 Venture 600 5000 kms..When I am running at 1/4 throttle or less the machine missmisfires, backfires, chugs sometimes stalls..The odd time the water tempature light will come on, sometimes on start up, anytime that it has come on the machine is not running hot..I have disconnected the water senser and I still have the same problem..I have changed plugs several times (properlly gapped) checked all wires for cracking etc..Today I was running a lake about 60-70mph and the thing just shuts down, it did it a couple of different times I am so fed up with this sled..Has this happened to anyone out there..does anyone have a few ideas on what might be the problem..

Sounds like the throttle overide system is activating. Make sure your throttle play is at (I believe) 1 to 2 millimeters. You can disconnect the TORS at the carbs, but someone will have to explain how to do that as I never have.

Thanks Jon I have already disconnected the TORS no difference..How do I check my CDI????? I am wondering if it's acting up.....
This is my favorite response this year to all questions similar to this.
Check your plug caps and make sure they're withing spec. 5K ohms I believe. Also check your wires going to the coils and make sure they're not loose.
I had a problem this year and it sounded like the classic TORS issue only to be either or both a plug cap and a loose coil wire.
Easy to check and if your lucky and thats it, cheap to fix!
Good Luck,
Greg
