Just wondering if anyone knows what the oil to fuel ratio is on the viper. The reason I'm wondering is because I lost all three cylinders the other day. Sled even squeeled when it started to sieze and I shut it down. All three pistons were dry as a bone and the center and mag had started to melt. the pto was scuffed pretty good, but didn't leave any aluminum on the cylinder. The crank was still oily, but there wasn't a big puddle in the case like usual. We took a fuel sample out of the carbs and put it in a clear bottle to compare its color with the raw fuel out of the tank. There was a darker color to the fuel out of the carbs, but not much darker. We then mixed a sample of 100:1 and 50:1 to compare colors with our sample from the carbs. It looked like our carb sample was real similar to the 100:1 mixture. What is the mixture supposed to be after it is mixed in the fuel pump? Has oil pump failure been very common on the viper? Could there be another problem?
Thanks

verified my viper the other and it's about 60:1, I thought it was pretty lean but for Yamaha it's normal. When you rebuild your engine make it richer then lean it out until you get the proper mixture.

i think something else caused your burn down. Jetting too lean for the temps, snow ingestion, bad gas, etc
