You used aluminum for the jack shaft and didnt expect this to happen?
Although I no longer have either of them I once owned both a SR292 and a 433. Never roundy rounded them, mostly set up for 500 to 1000' drags. Always ran the original 4 row sprockets, some times a three row chain. And with engagements of close to 6K most of the time we never had problem.
Although they were quite a bit heavier than a GPX or even an SRX they were the coolest looking sleds of there day! Once the SRX's and Ski-Doo sno pro'
s started dominating the mod class in the early eighty's it pretty much signalled the end of us free-air racers. But now that some of the circuits are offering "vintage" and "free-air" classes I wish I had still had them! I saw were there was a vintage roundy-round race at Houghton Lake, MI this past January, boy talk about bringing back some memory's and also a tear to my eye!
Back to the drawing board!

I'm telling you get a virgin to pee on it and your gremlin problem will be cured.

SR433...
yea the jackshaft was a gamble, but sometimes you gotta throw the dice and see how they land. I wanted to have a titanium one built, but the machinest required me to buy a 8 ft pice of the TI as he normally did not carry it. Think the rod would have cost me something like $400 - then what the heck would I do with 6ft of TI rod left over?
This little sr is a fun sled and I get alot of complements on it. Just dont have it dialed in yet!
