Ok, I'm thinking of a new helmet. I have a crappy modular right now. I love the modular concept. Wish the fit was better on the one I have. I've tried the bombardier and I love the slide down lens thing and the breath deflector looks like it works.
The CS-14 (by HJC) fit well, decent price, good name etc.
The modular is more money, but I think I'd like it more.
Does anyone have a good comparison or an opinion?

I have the bomb BVS2 helmet the sunshades are excellent your can get differ colors but I have the amber works great where i wear eyeglasses under it I just covered all the Bomb stickers with yamaha sticks i used a yam sponer sheet, other than that the helmut is GREAT
Thanks for the opinion. I don't think I was looking at the BV2 as they want like $400+ for it. It's still pretty trick though to be able to not have to squint...man that'd be sweet. I know I totally blew through a corner last year with the sun coming through the trees and bam...off trail...

I have an HJC CL-14 and I'm not sure if it's just this model or what but the shield clips on this helmet aren't worth a

I have the HJC CS-12 and haven't had any problems with it. I really like the fit too.
Don't get me wrong, the cs/cl (the cs is the "snow" version) is pretty nice. I'm sure it's better than the ones I have now. I do have issues with fogging most all of the time. That's the one thing that made me want to look at the modular with it's ported deflector.

Go with the bomb. modular. No need to wear sunglasses anymore with the built in sunshield, it doesn't fog up, the fit is good, the breath deflector is easy to put on. the price on the bombs. are not that bad anymore either. I give the bomb. modular a big

I've done a little looking and the place I went to was like oh yeah we can put you in one of those out the door for under $3--. Then I do some research....They have them listed on ebay for like $235. IDIOTS! I told him I wasn't buying that day anyhow. But they do have them in stock. I'm hoping to go back today.

I bought a Modular (ski-doo)beginning of this winter but the fighter-pilot style breath deflector drove me crazy, and really squished my face. I sold it on ebay. Just recently replaced it with Cats version, called Crosstec. Very nice setup. Has a traditional breath deflector that flips out of the way when opened as well as a drop down sun shield. Led light on chin bar is pretty cool too. Dealer wanted 300$, found it on E-bay for 149$ buy it now. easily the best helmet I've ever owned. I got plain black and put on some Yami decals.
I went back and told the salesman that they are advertising on ebay...he's like...really? I'll be right back.... He comes back, tells me I'm right and asks me if there is anything else I'd like....
They were a decent store, lots of selection and decent people. Not a ton of Yamaha stuff even though they are a dealer. But there isn't a whole lot of brands that weren't on thier sign. Maybe I'll get a couple of stickers to cover it up. Now if I can get a buyer for my old modular with the heated shield....

I have the ski-doo modular myself. The pull down sunshield is worth its weight in gold. Seems like I need to replace BOTH snaps on the face mask once a year though

Is it that the snaps pull out of the deflector?

snaps
Yes, they pull out of the deflector. Pretty easy fix. You can tell when they are ready to go, it gets harder and harder to un-snap it. Make sure you have spares

I'll keep that in mind...now where to find snaps.....
Did you have any fog problems? I am going to love the visor...

At first it was hard to get use to. A couple of rides and all was great, the shades are worth it themselves. No fooging what so ever for me and I drove with it when it was -30 C.
The snaps can be bought at a Ski doo dealership. Take note that thes helmets are made by Laser.
