OK here's the deal with this waverunner. I don't own it, i'm merely working on it for a friend of mine. I'm into sleds (live and die by Ski-Doo) but pretty mechanically inclined. The VXR does not want to run. It died on the water for the guy last summer and hasn't touched it since. When we try to start it, it runs for 1-2 seconds and when we try to give it gas it dies out. My first intentions are to tear into the carburator, but is there anything else I should look for? I've never worked on a Waverunner before, so its pretty much a process of elimination. Any help or pointers would greatly be appreciated. Thanks.

lol i got 2 o those. does it still have spark after it quits? have you checked stop button rubber boot? is he usin proper clip for tether? try these 1st
ive had problems at these spots oh and change the fuel filter and check fer water in the gas that does what u describin too.
