I have stripped the screws holding the sliders. I was very careful, but they were very tight and will not budge. It is beyond me why Yamaha would ever use a philips screw when there are so many other better alternatives. Any suggestions? Do I need to cut them off now? Thanks.

Drill a small hole in the side of the rail and use a bolt and nut.You should be able to drill out the old one,I believe this is in the tech section and you may want to use some ant-seize,I do and have not had a problem.

Thanks Swede, I managed to get one out after I drilled it. The other one, there is not enough "meat" left on the screw to get at with a pair of vice grips. I will try and drill out and get the screw out with an extractor. I saw the article in the tech section about drilling a hole in the rail and using a nut. Where do you drill up from the bottom and put a nut on. Not sure I understand. Do you drill through the existing hole that my old screw was in??
