Ok, how about for a '00 SRX that will be longtracked to 136 with Ripsaw, will used 50/50 for trail and off trail, i was thinking 21-40 that way i could keep my 70L chain, would this work......Reaper

I am running 8T drivers at 2.09 (21/39) on my MSRX7 136" w/ 2" camo. Plenty of arm pulling power although I am getting a lot of track spin, ...I'm taking it down a couple of notches to 1.91 (23/39) for next season. I was running my vmax at 1.82 (23/37) last season, a 121" w/1.5" camo. and it "hooked up" exceptionally well, ...a lower top gear just spun the track. Running your SRX at 21/40, assuming it's 9T drivers with a ripsaw is probably a good start for all around riding.

I have a 98 MSRX with some minor mods. For the flats i run a 136 X 1.25 with 23/39 gears & 9 tooth drivers. For mountains I just toss in a 2" track with 8 tooth drivers & gearing is perfect.

So it looks like both you guy are running 23/39 and your saying that would be best with 9tooth drivers, that means i would only have to get the new sprocket(39) and could keep my 23 & 70L chain,right........Reaper

reper, your sled came stock with 9 tooth drivers. you should be all set with a gearing change only. ski

Thanks Ski, ya i didn't word it right, i know i have 9tooth drivers, so i will try 23/39 and see how that works, now all i need to find is a 39 tooth gear, QUESTION does the new Polaris gears work in my 2000 SRX.....James

The 00 SRX and Vipers 3/4 HYVO chains are the same but sprockets are different. Polaris must use different thickness on the spline or width at the splines.

Gild,
Are you sure about the 00' and up SRX gears not being interchangeable with Viper. I just ordered a HYVO top gear and chain for my SRX and I've been told they are interchangeable (same part #).

polaris
I guess I wasn't clear.I was dealing with the previous post which wanted to know if the polaris gears were the same as Yamaha.
Polaris and Yamaha have the same style chain (3/4 HYVO as 00 SRXs and Vipers) but not the same gears which I believe is the width at the centre splines. If you had the correct spacers the polaris gear it may work.
00 SRX up including the Vipers, gears and chain, are interchangable and to my knowledge the bottom gear also fits the RX1 but the top gear has a different centre spline size.

oh oh
The top gear that has the different spline is so far only for the RX1 and is different than 00 SRXs and Vipers.

Use EPI gears as they are much cheaper then yamaha. They come with the correct spacers and can be used with the yamaha gears as well. Chains are about the same price. I got mine from Rich Motorsports.
