I tought that stock jetting was safe enough to make some test runs with my race logic ported and .010" shaved heads srx 600. Stupid me, I was wrong.

Did you keep an eye on your plugs????? or did you just pin it and don't look back.

I think the plugs looked fine, but with the heads of I think that the piston wash says lean.

my srx did that last year,ended up buying a used complete engine to have some spare parts,mine was stock but had a waterleak-looked exactly the same-detonation i guess.
btw-did the porting do some(any) difference?
oh-dont forget to check other things,like crankseals and such-doesnt have to be the jetting even though the wash sure looked lean...maybe it was something with the cooling system(air in system or leak)

well after reading your post the paranoia kicked in-just went out to check my wash and lo and behold-lean as hell,looks like ill have to check the crankseals myself,pto has started to melt near the exhaust....going to the mountains in a couple of weeks so i guess ill start wrenching...
