Why do some people feel the need to label the New phaser as a sno scoot?

There is more power and technology in the new phaser than can ever be attributed to the sno scoot. Maybe they bare some resemblance to the old sno scoot..... in the same way a 1/2 ton truck "resembles" a Kenworth. It weighs around 200 lbs. more than a scoot and has about 500% more suspension. It is not a good comparision at all. So grow up, It is not a kids machine, and you know you want to at least try one out, so quit acting like you don't.

Dude, who yanked your chain! LOL! WOW!

I've only heard that there are some simularities in looks only. Being the owner of a 1990 Sno-Sport and after seeing the 2007 Phazer I gotta go along with them! The simularity ends at the looks though............ :yam:

to answer you're question i would'nt get caught dead on one. cant wait for the srx name to come back, i just hope it bears some resemblance to the originals. but just because i dont like the phazer dosen't mean i dont bleed blue in the winter. and black and orange in the summer but we won't go there now. :2strokes:

I agree. One question? Black,Orange?

Like it or not, the new Phazer is built on the same concept as the Sno-scoot. A cross of a snowmobile and an ATV. I will not cut it down because of that. The Sno-scoot was not made for kids, it was an adult sled and marketed that way by Yamaha. It was the same size as the small, adult 3 wheelers of the time - 90cc. I think that something very similar to the new Phazer was likely on the drawing boards back when the Sno-Sport was still being made. It is the natural progression of what they had then. The motors were too small and there was a lot of anti-Yamaha resentment at that time and it did not sell. It did not work out back then and Yamaha feels that the time is right for it now.

We are all just witnessing "change".... Just as the Volkswagen Beetle has evolved to the Audi Q models, Yamaha sleds are evolving to sport bike/ motocross looking sleds... I think the look is long over due and the day of the large cowl with enormous engine and belly comparments are slipping away....

As for the "underpowered" 80 hp engine, I'm betting and hoping it will surprise us... The torque from that engine is going to be impressively different... We with two stroke tripples might just get to like the new way of distibuting power and torque to the snow...

Can't afford one, but not entirely sure I won't buy one..

Don't get me wrong I am not knocking snow scoot, but some were implying it is the same thing, and there are clearly in a different league all together, anyone who can't see that is not looking past the surface.

HEY........WTF #$%&*

I LOVE MY SNO SCOOT ;)!

New Phazer LOOKS LIKE ...........A Snow Scoot On STERIODS

Hey 2000SRX.........Bring it...lets RACE

I think they are very similar in looks. One thing is for sure though, the new Phazer is in a completely different league of snowmobiles! I still don't know why some people are so dissapointed in this new sled. Can you honestly say you wouldn't want to take that thing for a spin if given the chance?! So what if it won't stay with the big iron on the lake, or give you the high-mark for that matter, I bet It's going to be one of the best ditch-bangers ever!

at first I didn't care for the new phazer, but the more I look at it and think about it, It would probably be a nice second sled that the wife could ride with when I go, and one that I could have some fun with when the big heavy rough riding viper won't do.

It looks like a skidog freestyle, And they are uuuuugly!!! Almost as ugly as the Inviter!!
Sorry, it just aint doing it for me!

I go over to snowmobile fanatics alot & I tell you what most really like the new sled! I figured they would bash ,but several stated that the Yamaha line up really has them considering a change! not all but a bunch!

I dont get where people get the idea that the SnoScott was a kiddie sled. It wasnt.
The SnoScoot was designed for non-snowmobilers. It was basically a cross between a snowmobile and a scooter/moped. Thats what it was called the, "SnoScoot".
The new Phazer did take some styling cues from the SnoScoot/SnoSport, but it takes it to a whole 'nother level in terms of technology, power and suspension.
I wont lie, Id love to try out an '07 Phazer. Heck, if they turn out to be a good sled I will probably be trading my 600 XC in on one.
