I have just a couple questions...Reed spacers for a 98 srx 700? I heard you can't do it... and I also heard you gain 3 to 4 hp if you do. Which one is true? 2nd question...I find the sled very tippy in the corners lately...I know that's not a normal SRX problem so how do I fix it? Please Help!

The reed spacers are more of an advantage on the non-PV motors rather than the SRX motors. I think it has been done before, just not worth it from what I understand.
Your tiping in the corners may be suspention issues - and I would check the sway bar to begin with.

Thanks, I will check the sway bar. Would increasing or decreasing the load on my front shocks help for the ski lift in the corners at all?

I believe the stiffer the springs the more ski lift you get, don't quote me though, anyone else??

I think you have to change your handlebars on the srx if you put spacers on it b/c the carb rack hits.
From what I've read they don't help the srx's anyways. I think if you could get 3-4 hp with adding the spacers, more people would be raving about them. Maybe someone else has some comments.

SRX reed spacers
I think that V force Reeds might add that much.
SRX's area bit tippy. Save some $$$ and but a wide kit from Maxximum. It will add about 2 inches to the ski stance.

I appreciate all the help guys...and I will look into the ski widening kit. Does anyone know the biggest bang for the buck...Heal Clickers vs. V Force Reeds?

heel clickers
Save your money, but the reeds. There are a lot of decent clutch set-ups for less $$$$ than you will spend on heel clickers. When you are ready ask the clutch question. You might be able to get what you need from the guys here.

I know SRX's are supposed to corner like they're on rails...It's gotta be something simple...I'm gonna try softening the front shocks, I'll let you guys know if it helps...Thanks again for all the advise. I'm glad I found this site..And trust me there'll be plenty more questions to come.
Cheers

I put the reeds in my 98 srx along with the spacers, don't notice much difference at all. But if ur gonna install the spacers ur gonna need a longer bolts u can get em from ur yamaha dealer instead of grinding the spark plug mounts i think it was a 30 mm in lenght bolt that i put in it works fine. The only thing that i found with the reeeds is that now i'm burning alot more oil but that could have been from when i pull the motor i'll have to adjust it again tho i'm running a bit rich but i always said more oil is better then no oil.

I softened the front shocks and it seemed to have helped a little as far as the ski lift in the corners went...but the snow conditions on the trail was really soft so still hard to tell.. It seemed to dart more also but could have been the trails. I'll tell you more after the weekend. Thanks again for the advice.

Bergrstom Ski Shims
Call Bergstrom and install a set of his ski shims. They work well to stop the darting
