I think he said this race sled was the Vector – as Europe does not have the Nytro. A dude here put the Apex suspension in his Nytro (here in Ontario) and – it broke. I kind of like the springs (old school) but he said the mono worked better – beats me – maybe the advertising convinced him???
On the Phazer – several had mentioned turbo – before you start thinking that – is the Injector ECU programmable? If not – any performance enhancing mods will not work – if the jetting cannot be adjusted.
I see Blaze changed his pipe on the Phazer – maybe he just liked the looks or sound – can anyone find out if he re-programmed the ECU?
If you want HP get the Apex. We have a 99 Phazer – and it’s so good. We modified the front end to get rid of the huge bump steer, (common on the SX and XT chassis) added some 301 USI skis and clutch work.
It’s a gas eater stock – we adjusted the mid range (clutching) to up shift slightly – so it pulls the RPM down (lugs the engine slightly) for that 50 mph range. It shifts up fast when floored and runs in deep snow with the tach pinned at max rpm for the engine.
Our only concern is the ski pressure – we used one of the other Yamaha’s transfer rod with the stop collar about 3/8” higher up. That helped but adjusting too far affects the track tension at a point.
You can see our sled on the cover of the 2000 USI Catalogue
The 07 Phazer is for the 80 HP class. They have an 80, 120 and 150HP class –just choose the one you like.
