Finally got some good miles on the sled this week, but I am back to the same trouble as last year with poor fuel mileage. It is only getting about 10 mpg and that is on groomed trails at moderate speeds. On the lake racing burned up a tank in 90 miles, but it is running strong with 114mph on radar. The only symptoms I have is 5 to6 pulls starting cold and the relay for the lights takes about two minutes to come on when the temps are below -20c. Changed the fuel pump last year, thought that helped then but still having issues. Any ideas would be great.

have you chcked the condition of you're plugs, i mean color and condition, i think there is a plug chart if needed exlaining what the colors mean . i have that on my comp somewhere if you need it. my srx is quite good on fuel, i have installed on mine a bender clutch kit, stinger exhaust, cold air kit and i run a picked stock track.

is the sled bone stock? stock jetting, stock clutching, stock track, etc?? need some information in order to help you.

clutching and fuel mileage go hand in hand.

The sled is stock other than a roller secondary, transfer rods and 9830 camo with 144 studs. The plugs have a nice brown colour to them and there is no bog or hesitation of exsessive smoke. I bought this sled used but I believe the motor has not been worked on, although it has been hard on fuel since I got it.

I still have not figured out where the fuel is going. Does anyone have a safe jetting spec that I could run and how would I check the needle and seat, maybe this is leaking, but I don't smell any fuel. Another thing I noticed is the idle does not come down right away when you come to a stop. I hate to be complaining about using fuel when otherwise sled runs strong but Just keep thinking something is wrong and 800 twins are better at the pumps than this thing.
