just purchased my firts yahama,99 srx 700,does anybody know if the rear suspension has any adjustments(shocks or anything)to make it stiffer?any help would be great.also it has bender transfer rods.

Yes you can adjust the threaded collar on the shock and adjust the front of the rear shock higher or lower. What you are aiming for is the gap at the control rods is even top and bottom when you are fully suited up and sitting on it. The front end adjustment changes the angle and thus the leverage that the suspension has on it. If you can't get the control rod gap right with this you have to then either tighten or loosen the spring preload.

The easiest adjustmen would be shock location. The bolt nearest to the engine has three settings. loosen the bolt on the front of the shock, and relocate it to the bottom setting and it will add more spring, without adjusting the spring adjuster.
