Does anyone know how hard it is to put a 96 vmax 600 xt's suspension in a 94 vmax 600. My dad has the 94 and i have a 96 and comparing the two it appears that it should just bolt in with the exception of one bolt. Also is 150 a good price for the suspension with all boogie wheels and a "good" shock.

I put a 2000 venture pro-action in my 94 VMAX 600 ST 136" and it actually was pretty easy. The entire swap took berween 6 and 7 hours. I measured from the center of the drive axle to the first mounting bolt. Then measured distance from top of tunnel to bolt. thedistance from first bolt to second bolt and so on. I took some 1/4 inch aluminum for spacers because my tunnel was a 1/2 wider. Visit the link it was very helpful to me. If you have any questions I am willing to help as much as I can. 150 seems OK but you may be able to get a polaris edge suspension for another $150-200. and the ride will be much better.

Where are you in MI. I live in wyandotte 48192. I am updating my secondary clutch now to newer style from a 95 or 96. It is alot easier to maintain and gives you alot more helix options. I will let you know how swap goes for the clutch.

we are west of flint. He just wants a little more out of his suspension without spending a lot of money, and i think he likes the idea of us having very similar sleds.

Oh ya his sled has a comet primary and it looks like an aftermarket secondary as well haven;t looked at the clutching too much, I know it engages high at around 5400 (not a fan of that my self) I just rebuilt my 96 xt's clutches and WOW night and day the sucker Pulls a LOT harder now. Good luck on the swap.

I would personally stay away from the 96 XT rear suspension and get a '97 or newer, the '96s are known to be weaker. You can find them pretty cheaply. I found an '03 Rx1 skid with bender quick rods, upgraded idler wheels, 2 sets of Yamaha sliders and the set-up video for $350 back in November. Put it under my '95 600 and it has a great ride now. It is a worthwile upgrade to do if you plan on keeping the sled for awhile.
