floating secondary on 99 srx 700?

checking over my 99 srx 700 today an saw that i have about 1/2 " to 3/4 " of play on the jackshaft. i dont recall it being this way before . there are 2 spacers on the back and 1 in front . the only thing i can see causing this is the bearing with the two set screws behind the secondary moving out of its place. but it looks fine. any thoughts? is this normal?

check the manual there is a spec on the amount of free play it is supposed to have
