Looks like an accessory to hold the head of an axe. Had one on an old Bravo I bought a few years ago.

Maybe something home-made to hold a map or something. Never seen one before. Odd

I think it looks like you may be right. If it's not for an axe, it's must be for something similar.

Its for an axe, or hatchet. I seen one just like that on a 99 venture600, and are real easy to make!

Yes it does look like its made for an axe, but it alsolooks store bought, it is made out of plastic, so is definatly not home made.
As soon as the weather gets a little warmer I will go in my shed and get an axe and see if it fits..............Thanks alot guys..................Dario

it's a marriage license holder, it can be transfered from sled to sled until it's no longer needed, or until shes had enough.

All right that is for an axe 100%. If I would of looked 2 feet back I would of noticed a little ring to insert the arm af the axe and it was written "axe".
OK now to the good stuff. Are you guys freaken crazy, today was my first time on a Yamaha, the first 30 seconds was the scariest time of my life, I wanted to show my brother inlaw the sled and I flipped the sled to one side and I went the other. Fortunatly No damage to me or the sled. OK I learnt my lesson right, wrong. When we started out we went to an open area in the field, we took off, and to my amaze this thing is a bullet. I had a hard time holding on , I guess I was just surprised on how fast this baby goes. When I reached the end of the feild, I had to turn and , the damn ski got caught in the thick ice and snow and I flipped again, but this time a didn't fly off. But it did wake me up a little. How the heck do you guys get to those top speeds you say you do. I went up to 100km/hr and I was absolutly freaken out. Anyway, I had a blast, but I think this machine has a bit to much power for me.
Nice to be alive.....................
