I am posting this for a friend
He has a 2005 mountain viper with SLP pipes and his hood has been modified to pull cold air. We ride 6000 to 8000 feet and he wants some idea where to jet so he doesnt have a melt-down

SLP provides a jetting chart for different altitudes and temperatures, there is a copy of it on their website that you can download. It seems to be accurate (mine is jetted per the chart and has been stock reliable for 3 seasons now) and remember it is better to be too rich than too lean.

Slps chart is real darn good. Remember to check on the clutch side it usually needs to go 1 step leaner than on the center and mag side.
Also you need to do some mods to get more air to the box.

I'm at tpo 145, center 147.5, mag 147.5, Needles 2.0 / 1 7/8 fuel screw for 9-12,500 at +20f to+40f degrees. It is a shade lean at 9,000 but safe to ride if not wfo for too long.

What mod's did he do to the hood? It's best to pull the cold air in from behind the windshield, using some flowrite's or MPI's filters.
If he modified the intake scoop's to force air into the air box. They will force powder snow into air filter, and ice up the air filter.

I run 151.3's straight across at 3500' to 7000' temps 20F to 40F

I don't know if your fuel has ethanol or some similier fuel clean air additives. That will make your sled run lean if you go by slp's chart. It is for standard fuel only. In Colorado the fuel sold in and around Denver has additives, the gas in the mtn's doesn't. We have to be carefull where we fill up.
