Starting my homework before buying skid for my Viper-s. I haven't seen many posts on the Bender kit yet. So far I am leaning toward the Expert-x, but I did see a post where a guys said the Bender had to much transfer. I would guess you should be able to tame it down. I hate to bring up this "expert-x vs. M-10" topic again but where does the Bender kit fall in? For the money if Bender's kit works well sounds like it would be the best value??? What do you guy's think?

I imagine it will still burn slides like stock

There is a fella over on the 4 stroke side who has one in for a couple months now and seems to like it.He said the instructions are poor and setup took a while, bbut he seemed fairly positive in general.

I have a mono in my Vipers, I love it, the Bender kit is identical to the Yammie mono, I had them side by side, I think by looking at the Bender kit I could install it without instructions, so I don't know why anyone would say its hard. As for the transfer, sure you can make it over transfer, but it is easily adjusted out, and if you want a susp that has too much transfer get an expert. I have 2 guys that come around here with Experts and we pulled one out to revalve the shocks, it had 1200mi on it and you would swear it had 6000. Beat the bronze bushings out of the shocks already. As for slide wear, the mono seems to wear them in the back, but of course it will because theres no wheels there, but it doesn't wear them in the front like the stock suspension. I put 2 extra wheel kits on mine, I have 1100 mi on a set of slides and I can't see them wearing anywhere, I'm sur I could go a season on a set of slides.

I think it is what I am going to do over the summer. seems like a good deal all around. less $$$ than either m10 or expert, quality parts, smooth ride, transfer if you want, not if you dont. seems like a winner to me, as long as you can get one from bender lol!

I assume you are very happy with your mono install in your trailing arm sled???
How is the ride compared to the 4 strokes with mono?? Just wanting camparison with mono and trailing arms VS mono and A-arms.
Thanks,
Tod

Well as far as I'm concerned the front is the front and the back is the back. And after riding both types of sleds with both suspensions the difference in the rears is clear. It carries itself in rough flatter in the rear on both sleds, and your ability to handle the rougher stuff with the mono just depends on the shock you have.
The mono in the trailing arm sled makes the whole sled feel different, and also I think the mono betters the sled as a whole more than the a arm sled gains as a whole, where as you could take the stock step up from and Apex and drop it in a Viper and it feels adequate, where I feel that same skid in the Apex is a little under shocked or sprung for the same conditions. I think this is based on the front to back weight distribution of the two sleds.
What really changes with the trailing arm sled is the all around ridability and performance, first is the obvious weight transfer, not just off the line, but on a long pull the skies still feel light out the other end, and in the woods when you chop the throttle entering a turn you can feel the sled roll forward and the skies bite where the proaction would push a little first and then turn. It just makes the sled more fun to ride as well as ride better.

The way my mono feels in my Apex and RX-1 I bet it would work even better in the trailing arm sleds. I hope the Bender kit works out for you guys, I really wanted one but couldn't wait any longer and had to get the expert. It would be nice to have a cheaper alternative to the $1400 suspensions.

Now I am even more convinced I want one my dealer has a leftover apex gt. that has the mono already...
I was considering the Bender skid, but elected to go a different route. I'm planning to go with a polaris edge skid and extend to a 136". It might not match the Bender, but it will be a fraction of the price and will be a huge improvement over the proaction skid.

I might go this route as well.

i still have to dial my attak in, but so far with limited riding and tuning time (400 miles) i dont think the mono is the best choice for agressive riders. i weigh 170 lbs and am bottoming it all the time. i never bottomed my viper with the updated shocks and i dont think i ride all that hard. i tried cranking the spring up, but the shock couldnt handle the extra rate and it was bouncy. im thinking the high speed dampening needs to be stiffend up. its a great trail suspension, but they pulled it from the rtx for a reason.

yamaha has an optional spring for the mono for more agressive riding, probably more of a progressive rate

lol, doesn't your phone still work? Yea i've been so busy these past few months, haven't been able to make it around here too much. You been riding much? What did you do with the viper, trade it or sell it? Still got that poo?

first ride with rich this year i took the viper and put probably 200 miles on it. then i went to muni myself with the poo and put 250 miles on it. went with a group to hurley and put another 250 miles on the poo then i just got back from muni by myself again and put almost 400 miles on the attak. i still have all 3 sleds, but ill be selling the pro x or trading it towards a trailer. i have it tuned and clutched pretty well, but it still only gets 11 mpg and has no top end! i think the viper with 8 tooth drivers and the 136" x 1.75" track could walk it on the top end! lol! ill p.m. you my new #, i think you just have my old # or my ex girlfriends #! lol!yamaholic22 said:lol, doesn't your phone still work?
