Skidoo skid on a SRV? can it be done?

I have A skid out of a 99 Mach-z 800 and wondered if I could make it work on my 89 SRV. what kind of changes would I have to do to the front. I am sure It would have to be raised. I thought about making an adapter where the strut attachtes to the ski to raise it up. It would not change the steering Geometry. What do you guys think?
