I have a 2004 Viper S with bender pipes and when I have long mid throttle runs the DET light will flash on and shut it down for a second. Is there anything I can do about this?

i had the same problam in my Viper Mtn 05 with benders. I was told i was too Lean in my 3/4 throttle Area, Midrange. I was told to Raise the Needles in My carbs. Never got to try it out so i donno.
ask Junior, Mrviper700, or Yamaholic22 They'd know, im sure.

I have a 04 viper s also with CPR pipes and a DCS light that keeps coming on.
I have run 91 fuel with Octane boost.
had CPR head mod installed
Jetted up and was getting less than 5mpg light still came on. (jetted down and the wash is good).
was told it was heel clicker II's swapped out still on.
I have posted this same problem twice in the last month.
If you are confident in the jetting (ie Happy with the piston wash) then I would recommend...
The only solution I have found is to Unplug the DCS and strap it to the coolant hose and Buy a set of guages.

Maybe you should try with those heads from mountainperformance. I understand they are bigger/have better cooling capacity and are dcs compatible.

what is your current set up for jetting. Are you running an opticool gasket.
Any other mods. You need to keep the motor cool and not run her lean when you pipe a Viper. Need more info about set up.

DCS is a great tool but it has its limits. Pipes change the acoustic vibrations of the engine and can make the sensor trip because it isn't setup to "know" that engine configuration. There are some things that seem to help though. Better cooling any way you can get it helps eliminate any traces of detonation. Aftermarket heads with optimized cuts help to control the burn. Opticool gasket with srx base gaskets improves cooling a ton, an a rear heat exchanger is COMPLETELY MANDATORY!
