Viper Seat, 02 vs 04

I hear the 02 seat lacks foam density and riders feel the tunnel after the first season. If there is truth to that, did Yamaha change the foam in the 03 or 04 seat ? Wondering if it is worth looking for a 04 seat for the 02. Just got the sled, I have zero miles on a viper so far. My SXr seat is great, buddy complains constantly about his 02 Viper.Thanks Pat
 

One of the last rides found a 04 seat and yes was a big change from the 02. Padding is about 1/2 inch difference and was like adding the recall shocks. Traded my seat which had 4200 miles on it for a 04 gave the guy $125.00 and came out the winner on the deal. Was thinking of buying boss seat but got lucky I found this.
 
I agree that the 02 seats were bad ... I have an 04, but my boyfriend has an 02 ... the foam on his seat is no longer under his butt, but now on the sides of the seat.

I wonder if there may be other reasons for the foam being that way on his seat....

Gina, the seat I had on the sled from day one never fell to the sides. You can see and feel a big change in your bottom with your seat, even with alot of miles on it. Love the new seat!!!
 
yes actually a few guys on here are using srx seats in place of a viper seat.i have a spare srx seat if anyone is intrested in trading out there 02 viper seat.also have a spare 02 viper er seat if any1 is intrested.
 
I have an 02 Viper. Never had issues w/ the foam moving to the sides, but it was way too soft! B4 last season, I took the seat vinyl cover off cut out a think large section of soft foam and had a upholstry shop replace w/ FIRM foam. It wasa night an day difference and i wpould recamend the mod. Cheap too!
