A friend of mine is looking into a 1989 Enticer 340 with reverse, but he heard some bad things about the motor.
Can someone give me some info on this sled?
Many thanks.

Old style Enticers & Exciters are the '57 Chevies of the snowmobile world. Only thing to lookout for is plugged/dirty carbs. They'll melt a piston faster than you can blink an eye. Keep the carbs cleaned and they'll run forever.

Is that 89 the long track?
Either way, great sleds, and the long track makes a really good ice fishing sled.

i think from the year that is an et340t/r. bullet proof is the term that comes to mind. motor is a little underpowered in the long track chassis in the powedr/breakin trail whitch is why they changed it to the et400t/r just before they went to the enticer II. like what was stated above clean the carb and give it a good going over and it should be a great sled.
dad had one that he tried to beat to death on my uncles trapline, fishing, breakin trail, haulin us around. heck my uncle had the same sled and i still see it running around dowling and his was beat harder than my dads. i missed it whitch is why i bought an et410t/r as my 1st sled.
