Ok, I'll be doing some track tension adjusting and what not. I want to make a stand to support the rear of the sled so I can run the sled on a stand.
Does anyone have any ideas on how I could make one? I'm not a metal worker. I was thinking of a section of 4x4 with braces on each side and a black iron pipe between them. I could use a wratchet/tie-down to hand the rear bumper off the pipe.
Good? Bad? Any idea how high I should make the pipe?

do u ahve some nice firm beams in ur gargae? if so just loop a tie down around it and hook it on ur bumper thats the easyest.
It's a great thought and one I've already have...however...no. There are none.
I made a couple using a 2"x8" board and a couple of heavy duty angle brackets. Just cut the board to the desired height, cut a second for the base (about 16") and use the angle bracket to attach to form a "T". Works great and is cheap!
I just want something simple and easy.
We have used single peice of 4x4 and it can work but doesn't always.

Just go to your local junkyard and buy a bumper jack. Thats what I use. It cost me about $20 and works great.

I just use a 4x4 with two 16" pieces of 2x6 screwed to the bottom. It actually was my trailer stand but works better for the sled. I just stand behind the 4x4, lift the sled, and lean the 4x4 in with my knee, easy and cheap.

take a piece of square thin piece of metal (for use as a base) and then weld some kind of metal rod or pipe (about 3 feet long) to it and then weld a big hook to it that looks like the j on your keyboard and then all you have to do is lift the sleds back end up and put the rear bumper on the hook and it will hold it right up if you want give me your email and i will send you a pic of it tommorrow by itself and one of it holding up a sled
alright, these are some good ideas.
I'm not a welder and don't have access to one, so welding one up is out.
The pvc looks interesting.... It's sturdy enough to hold the back of a heavy sled? How high will I need to make it? (Sled is up north and I'd like to have it done before I go up.)
