All, son just picked up a 89 exciter from a guys backyard, brought it home and emptyed old gas and put fresh gas in, put some gas down the cylinders and she fired right up! She will only run on the gas we put in the cylinders. There is a fuel cut off on the left side under the handle bars, can someone tell me what the correct position is, sticker is worn. We have the carbs, air box and pipe all out for cleaning. We plan on replacing the fuel filter.etc...... thanks AKA Bluebullet

Usually the fuel petcock handle is inline with the fuel line when in the on position. If this machine has been sitting for any length of time you will definitely have to clean out those carbs.
Good luck.
Good luck.

srx eh, Thanks, its not what I would call a petcock valve, it is mounted in under the faring and almost resembles the standard choke plastic handle type. you can pull it out and lock out, or let it down. I have never seen this type on any sled I've had! Thanks, AKA Bluebullet

Maim, Thanks for the info!!! Yes, My son has been riding a 90 Phazer and could use a little more speed, and I don't like him on my SRX, he tends to ride too fast. this will be a happy medium! thanks AKA Bluebullet
