How to sync carbs?

94 V-max 500 Never done this before. I have a carb sync meter available. Do you have to check if the carbs are opening at the same time even though there is only one throttle cable? What do you adjust to get even flow? Will the meter work through the boost bottle openings? I do have the manual but any tips would be great!!!
