I have a late model (1980's) 15HP Yamaha 2 stroke outboard that needs help...I have been directed to the parts fische on this site and feel thankful for such,(has helped immenswely) but does anyone have a link to a site where I can get great technical advice on this outboard?....A forum such as this is asking for a lot, however, anything would be appreciated at this time....

Hey Mr Sled.... Thanks for the reply.....I've since found a forum, but it seems many have read my post but are unable to answer...
So here it goes... 1986 15HP Ymaha 2 Stroke
I rebuilt bottom end last year after propshaft pin fell out and took out gears and bearings..This year,,, I found bearing carrier/ cap was broken from freezing temperatures...Took apart and whole btm end was full of water (and oil)....Replaced bearing carrrier/ cap and associated o-rings, and, seals on prop shaft....
After assembly was complete:
When I was filling the btm end with oil, I noticed fresh gear oil coming from one, of several tiny, (very deliberate) 5/32" holes just above the "oil level" screw......(I was squeezing oil into the lower unit with a bottle and pointed fitting)... IS THIS 5/32" HOLE A FROST PLUG HOLE THAT HAS LOST A FROST PLUG?....Can't think of anything else....If oil comes out of here as it does, what stops water from getting inside?...Don't know why oil is coming from here?
(there are about 3 or four of these tiny 5/32" holes on each side of the lower unit, (above the "oil level" screw)...some of them appear shut with a cap or paint (hard to tell), but a few others and one in particular is open)....
I suppose it only makes sense that there "might" be frost plugs to allow pressure to escape if water was in lower unit and it froze, but might I be on the wrong track?...
Not very well versed with outboards, just trying to be independent and fiscally conscious.....
I have attached a photo...There are two of these 5/32" holes just above and to the right of the "oil level" screw....The oil was squirting out the one furthest to the right...
any help is appreciated
thanks TJ

that makes perfect send the frost hole, I was hoping it was something dealing with the motor and/or carburation. Good luck on your quest. Have you called a Yamaha outboard dealer??? If so what did they say. Thanks
