89 exciter set up?

All, My son picked up a 89 exciter and we have pulled air box, pipe and carbs, cleaned all and now sled runs good. Carb line (VENT) is dripping fuel when ideling. I have checked the float level and completley cleaned all jets etc. sled is responsive up and down the throttle and the drip tends to go away has rpms increase. I think its overflowing? any Ideas? also the sled has a Comet 102 primary and looks like a roller secondary with yellow spring. no make on secondary. I am sure it has a aftermarket pipe also? single with a can, The pipe has a small crack at the bend, can I repair with exhaust tape? I could not tell what the main jets were in the carbs. seems like some one had this sled set up pretty good. Has anyone seen this set up? Thanks AKA Bluebullet

I had a 87 that had the round slide carb update and the inlet needle went to hell....flooding the float bowls.

Thanks MR Sled, I got a new carb cleaner yesterday and will try cleaning again, if that doesn't cure will have to change needle, etc... Thanks Terry

89 Exciter running good

Thanks Mr.Sled, Completly soaked and cleaned carbs and sled runs great now! I think it must of been dirt inbetween the seats etc... I am taking the old runner this am to a field drag and we will see how it runs! went last week and there was a few sleds that were ready to be beat! This weekend Exciter, and if there is any real competion maybee I take my SRX next week! Think snow!!!!!!!
