I tried one of those snow deflectors from a Mountain Viper last year, not much of a difference. The sled is fine when screaming across the top of the snow but when it gets stuck it barely has enough power to turn the track.

Seems most guys with Bender pipes have this problem, how come? Is there anything I can do besides redirecting the pipes out the side of the belly pan?

Thanx!

seems to me it has more to do with the air going into the carbs
air box prefilter
2 flo rites mounted by speedo
flo rite material over the forced air induction
ALL under hood air intake taped off ( can not suck hot under hood air into carbs )
a 1-1/2" hole drilled in each forced duct to let the air go straight to the air box,
taped off the end of the ducts
all I can think of right now
I am going to the Snowies, Cenntenial March 11-
might be able to tell you more after that

Hey thanks for the reply! I already got the FAI scoops cut wide open and redirected straight into the airbox like a true ram air, and the yamaha pre-filters. I have the "triangular shaped" holes underneath the hood taped off but I left the 2 large rectangle holes open just incase the FAI scoops freeze up. I'll try a bit of duct tape over the 2 large rectangle holes to stop the warm air from entering the airbox, see if it makes a difference. I'm starting to think it's not even an exhaust problem, could be clutching also?

Here's what I have done right now:

i donnot about clutching.... i owouldn't pick with it unless your sled is working like shit on lakes and etc..your viper neil is working pretty saucy isn't it??? never seen you out on it much this year. by the way, i got a TON of stickers from Exhaust gas, maybe youd like a few for the tunnel?

Mine was bogging last year in deep powder after a long pull .But ran great on hard pack, and it ended up being a pulled through cable on the powervalve. After a new valve installed it hasn't bogged once on me this year....just a thought.

I checked the valves the other day, they were fine. I just got back from a 8 hour ride in mostly deep snow, we had a blast! I think someone might have some video, I'll find out in the next couple of days. I got stuck a few times and I never thought about it at the time but I should have dug away the snow from the exhaust and see what happened, pretty sure it's the exhaust plugging up though.
