Extending an 02 Viper to 136" with an M10. I want to use a 1.5" lug track. Main useage will be groomed trails and a fair amount of logging roads / off trail with up to 2 feet of fresh snow ( maybe more ) Don't want to go to 2" Anything better off-trail than the ripsaw?? Hear it hooks up real good on groomed trails, but would trade some of that off for a better off trail 1.5 lug, if there is one.

Ok, I'll give them a call. What's your reason for this particular track?? Thanks

its probably a full bar/block track that grabs really well in the powder.

I got a 1.75" * 136 from ebay for $150.00, it is in great shape. Dont be afaid to go to 2". You hear everyone say, "Dont go 2" b/c you will wear out your sliders!" Go 2" and you will replace sliders, but when off trail you will notice a huge difference.

i have a polaris 1.75" lug on my viper and it is fine for slider wear. its a massive improvement over the ripsaw off trail. personally i think the ripsaw is about the worst choice for off trail riding.

I agree, if the ripsaw is anything like the hacksaw in the powder it isn't so good. GREAT on hardpacked and semipacked though.

Appreciate the responses. Kinda figured that the ripsaw was getting high praise because of its on trail performance. Just doesn't look like there's much there for off trail. n2oiroc, did you have to change drivers to run that 1.75??

How is the new 1.5" ripsaw in the powder? Big difference between that and the 1.25" ripsaw?
Sorry for stealing your thread 1badz.

The Camo Challenger 1.5" is a good all around performer. The 16" wide 1.75" (Camo/Doo) track is a great off-trail performer. Has slightly more lug noise on hard packed trails then the 1.5" though.
If you use a 1.75" or a 2" on hard pack, a set of ice scratcher's are a good investment.
You can use 1.75" track's with 9 tooths, with the exchanger/tunnel protectors removed.
