Has any one put a edge suspension in an srx? can it be done? if so how did you like the ride? I want to upgrade and the m10 is a little to expensive. What do you guys think?
Thanks

I've never done it, but this Spring/Summer I plan to put one in a '97 SX 700. I know the Edge suspension is a very good riding suspension. I don't think it should be too hard to do. Just find someone w/ an Edge and make a bunch of measurements from the driveshaft to obtain the correct tunnel orientation.
The tricky part will be adjusting the front suspension to compensate for the extra ride height. My plan is to put Viper shocks up front, which will require long travel radius arms (SX-R, Viper, etc..).

Nicksxr, just installed an edge skid into his SXR. I'm not sure if he posted anything on it, but it did require some metal work.

Thats how I did my polaris m-10 graft, worked out well! You'll need the measurement from the bottom of the tunnel also to get the correct hole location.I don't think it should be too hard to do. here are the measurements. the edge suspension is great. well worth the work. http://www.jbshocks.com/edgemount.JPG
thanks for the measurements. I have two questions? What does the first hole repersent? (Is that the drive shaft) and on a scale of 1 -10 10 being the hardest what kind of job is this to do? n2oiroc I see you are from milwaukee, I'm also from milwaukee, have you done this job before??? hint hint (lol)

first hole is the driveshaft. it is just a matter of doing a track swap and accuratly drilling some holes and maybe popping a couple rivets. i have a ton of the proper rivets if you need some and i can help with the swap on my days off. let me know when you plan on doing it.Johnnysrx said:thanks for the measurements. sure do, you still got mine? I might be piecing the srx back together if i can get a rail and center shock in time, otherwise im going to throw my buddie's viper skiddy in there. Would like to go up for two days or something for one last 600 mile trip.

Better just throw a set of wheels on instead of the viper skid, TOTAL GARBAGE TRAILS!! You might have some decent snow around South Range in the U.P. Though? Northern wisconsin is all shot, along with alot of the U.P. We got a bunch of rain, and warm temps of 40 tomorrow and 45 sat. they will be JUNK if not already!

Yea i dont think the G/f really wants to go. She was talking about not wanting to be out in the cold all day (not that she would really have to worry about that in this weather). But yea if i go looks like i'll be going stag. Yea i was thinking wisconsin would be junk, i was thinking about heading up to Houghton, maybe go check out some of the clean snowmobile challenge at the keweenaw research center. They still have a lot of snow up there, and its supposed to cool down after the weekend again.
I do not have the skid frame yet. I wanted to know if it was do-able before I bought anything. I have another question? Do you have to change tracks also with the skid swap? Thanks

no they use the same track. while its apart i would get a better track though, its an unbelieveable difference. its like adding 15hp!
