I was just wondering if you have to raise the ice scratchers everytime you come to a road crossing? How long do they last roughly, before you have to rebend the ends. Going to buy the holtz for sure. Thanks.
I would think they would wear down....the thing that would worry me is that when you jump do they flip around ???

scratchers
I had them on the tunnel and the front of my rails but the best place for them is on the inside of your skiis. If you bend them you save your track from some damage. You know, when your old and back up, damn expensive when you forget.

Just make sure you stay away from Mountain Performance scratchers. They are total junk!!

All Ive ever used was Mountain performance, of course I only have 1 set and they are on my RX1 Mountain. The only time I put them up is to load the sled on a trailer. I have aprox 1000 miles on them and they seem to work just fine. At 1st I installed them to lower engine temp, but after I installed the extra cooler, I see that my sliders haven worn 1 bit

I've been through several sets of Mountain preformance scrachers, always the same thing one broken one good. Even his new stainless steel same result.
I use Hartman's mounted on my skis, I've also used Starting line mounted on the skis. Better coverage on the skis.
I also agree MP scrachers are less than satisfactory.
