2002 SRX DCS light help

I have an 02 srx and a buddy of mine has one also we went to caribou maine with a full tank of 93 octane fuel from mass and they ran mint at 0 degrees f we put gas in from a local caribou station and on both sleds the stupid dcs light came on everywhere over 1/2 throttle and over 65mph this is horrible no power and my sno scoot will beat it I also have an 01 which is many times faster than these 02's should I just jet it like an 01 and disable the dcs please help with what to do obviously it is an octane issue but we can't be the only two that this happens to what can anyone offer for info Thanks Stan :o| :o| :o|
 

well you cant just disable the dcs. Its not that simple it will then retard the timing even more. You can step up to the 01 jetting and relieve alot of your headache, I used to also just carry a bottle of 104 booster with me, if I got questionable gas, I would add some. The 01 jetting will help alot. thats 148.8,148.8,150 in the pto
 
I have an 02 and I jetted it in between the 01 and 02 specs and my DCS never comes on. I would have to look, but I think it is 147.5, 147.5, 148.8 if my memory serves me right. I had an 01 and my 02 is every much as fast as my 01 was if not faster!
 
Jet up. I had pretty much the same problem. Except my problem was that the dealer had set the needles on 2.5 which is too lean. If you jet it up enough the light will disappear. Now with the big jets and tempaflow, I can hold it to the bar for like over half a mile without the dcs going off. Hope this helps.
 
i would jet in between 01 and 02 specs. The 01's are a little fat in most conditions, and 02 are on the lean side.
 
so all of you just basically jetted in between the 01 and 02 specs and still have the dcs operable so I guess that is the way to go because I did't want to disconnect because it is there for good reason. Thanks :WayCool:
 
DUDE, GO TO 2001 SRX CARB SPEC OR RUN ATLEAST 100 OCTANE. I HAVE A 2002 SRX THAT I USE FOR 1/2 MILE SNO DRAGS. I BOUGHT ALL 93 OCTANE AT ALL DEFFERENT SATIONS AND DCS LIMPED ON AT END OF 1/2 MILE STRIP. THAN I STEPED UP TO 100 OCTANE SUNOCO GT AND PROBLEM OVER. LITE HAS NOT BEEN ON SINSE. ONLY CORSE FOR YOU IS 2001 SRX CARB SPEC WHICH IS RICHER SETTING THAN 02. 3:16 (tony)
 
I will tell you this much you couldnt even begin to tell a differance between 1 jet size here, it takes fuel to have mph in a sled, the 01 jetting is fine, wont be any slower and wont run any slower elapsed time, but what it will do is solve the problem at hand!

A srx will make the same hp a couple jet sizes each way, the fuel curve is very wide in these engines.
