I'm in the middle of replacing the speedo side drive shaft bearing on my 02 Viper er. I'm wondering how tough it is to replace the bearing behind the secondary while I'm at it.
I have ordered all drive shaft / jackshaft bearings, but don't want to get into pulling the chaincase this week - thought I would replace the other bearings when the season is over.
Any tricks / tips that can be shared or do I have to pull the chaincase for this one?

Should come off just by taking the secondary off. Two set screws in the collar like the driveshaft bearing on the same side. Re-check your chain tension after, it shouldn't affect it enough to worry about, but it's easy to do.

Ah, no, the bearing retainer is on the inside of the frame, you have to take the chaincase cover off and get the nut off the top gear, undo the set screws on the bearing and you can slide the shaft side to side and get it out. Reassemble, tighten the gear first and the set screws last......................

Dammit! I hate when I get proven wrong, but wrong I am. I had all that apart just 3 months ago, you'd think I would have remembered.
Sorry if I caused any confusion.
