This weekend there is a pretty big even going on where i am from. there is going to be a lot of lake racing. All the racing i usually do is usually with a lot of hard packed snow... not usually a lot of ice. I have a lot done to my sled as far as motor work, including port and polish, boared carbs, vforce reeds, clutched, bender can, cold air kit, and much much more.
but as for traction i just have the stock track with 144 studs, how can i get the best traction with this set up. i know i can beat everybody that will be at the lake if i can keep hooked up.
any input is apreciated, thanks

is it worth it to go to chisle tooth?

if u have adjustible transfer rods adjust them to full transfer if not take the white plastic washer off the top gap on the transfer rod just for that day. more studs always help.

i dont have the adjustable transfer rods... but thats something i am definatly going to have next year. on the other hand though i do have the top washers out, wheelies like a bastard, have been told that your better off with the washers in when your racing.

loosen up your limiter strap and put a smaller plastic spacer on the top gap of your transfer rods I set mey sled up like that one weekend and it pulled the ski's about 8" all the way to 110mph on the speedo.

depending on your weight, but backing off the rear spring pres. in the rear skid, back off the front shock, fra adjuster to soft, and actually youd suck up the limiters some along with taking some of the spring tension off the front ski shocks, this will let more of the track sit on the ground and not do big wheelies, even though they look cool, they actually lose time from wasted motion going up and then back down instead of moving forward. work on the rear skid, theres alot of time, or should I say alot of time to cut off your et there.

WHEELIES LOOK REALLY COOL !!!! BUT EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. JUST HAD A FELLOW ICE DRAGGER KILLED HERE IN N.Y. WHEN SLED FLIPED OVER ON HIM AND CRUSHED HIS CHEST. 3:16 (tony)

Like mrviper700 says...keep the front end down. The set up he describes is exactly what I run and it hooks pretty well. 144 studs ain't near enough. I'm running 192 sharpened trail studs in my SRX. Can smoke about anything on hard pack, sucks on ice. Definitely need ice picks or chisels.
good luck
