Can anybody tell me about the viper traction brackets from yamaha. I'm wondering how thick they are. (Are they flimsy or not?) I want to reinforce my ekholm tunnel with them I attached a pic.

they aren't flimsy they really help a lot, i love them. They look great as well. Not exactly sure how thick they are but they definately aren't flimsy, added quite a bit of support to my tunnel.

I had a set here I think they are .060 or .080, they really don't stiifen anything just give you traction................

Uh Oh! Conflicting opinions. 1st I was ready to buy some, now I don't know. The problem with my ekholm tunnel is that the tunnel is bent at a tight 90 degree angle and started to crack at that bend between the running board and the vertical part of the tunnel. I had it welded and it's held for a while, but I figure I better reinforce it with something before it happens again. It cracked right where the heel of my foot rides and applies the most force to the running boards. I just need some sort of support that will take the force off the sharp bend in the tunnel and disperse it elsewhere. I appreciate any opinions I can get!
Thanks!

I had them on my viper and they stiffen the boards a little, look great. I sold them and went to the Rox treads which work great.
