I have my 02 viper and love it, shes got 3400 miles and this is usually when I sell stuff and look for something else. What yamaha will compete with the new mach Z and other fast sleds? I want to be in front on the lakes but don't want a pig in the twistys. What would you suggest? A rx1 with NOS or vector with a SC/TC? Money is a object so I want to be smart about it but there are lots of good used deals popping up and I'm confused what would work best.
So the question is for the guys who have been around all this different equipment...show me the way

Maybe a warrior or RX-1 with a supercharger. You can find the 04 warriors for preety cheap. Reason for the warrior is that it hooks up WAY better and is a better way to plant that power, or go with an RX-1.
Those Apex's and Attaks are very fast as is though, maybe go with a GHT-R-Dun kit from Hauck for the APEX, Attak, it will be fast no matter what.

What is the difference between the warrior and rx1? Last I read when they first came out, I got it in my head they were lighter by a negligable amount. When did the mono shock rear start showing up? Thanks!

the warrior's are all long tracks if im not mistaken.
Warriors are 136" verisons of the RX-1
Mono came out in the 05 RX-1
The Warrior never did get the mono, but the 06 Attack, a 136" Apex, has it.

keep the viper, it has LOTS of miles left! I have about 6500 or so on mine I think (somewhere over 6k) and never any problems. had one PV cable snap once, but it was a fluke and just snapped. no stuck valve or anything! I am putting in a mono over the summer and hope for ohlins up front, then ride another 5-6k miles
if you really MUST get a new one, look for a leftover apex. they are really nice and should last a while. not to mention finding a leftover should be a snap after a winter like this!
