any sugessions on how to remove primary without a tool, my problem is that my clutch tool ( kimpex cheap ) swelled up and broke off in the crank without popping the clutch now I really need to get it off to try and get the piece out off the crank, because i triied a magnet and the piece must have bent, I can turn it but it won't pull out ANY SUGESSIONS Thanks,

i ran into the same problem with another sled breaking a puller off inside...the trick i used was to find a bolt or use whats left of the puller the screws into the clutch... get some lithium greese and it must be lithium fill the inside space where the puller goes in as much as possible... put the puller in or bolt tight so no greese can get by(if slack in threds use some teflon tape)... get a propane torch and heat the canter of the clutch between the sheaves for a bit and it will pop off with a good pop....the greese will epande and will pop it off...the first time i tired this it scared the hell outta me it was quite a pop...lol if used this method th get clutchs off that pullers wouldnt move...hope i've helped

How much is left in the clutch? Do you still have all the threads available to screw in another puller? If you do I would suggest getting another puller and shorten it by the amount broken off of the other one. Then try to remove the clutch in the normal fashion.A second option would be to put the broken puller in a lathe and drilling a hole through it to use for a pilot to drill a hole in the center of the broken piece, then tap it out so you can screw in a slide hammer to remove the broken piece. You will probably need to fabricate a custom drill and tap by silver soldering an extension on to get in the hole deep enough.
