Since it was a bad day for any summertime activity I removed the shocks from the ol' SXR today to send them out for a overhaul. As far as I can tell they are all working normally. The rears have about 6,500 miles on them since they were last done and the fronts have never been touched in over 15,500 miles. I'm also thinking about putting a stiffer spring on the front shock of the skid frame. I noticed a marked improvement in the ride quality after cranking up the spring preload all the way. I swear the sled rode so much softer it was like a new machine. The shocks all still rebound without the springs installed but I think a oil change would be a good idea. Most importantly I'd like the job properly as I ride mostly in the middle of nowhere often solo. Thanks: DT

Yep, send them to NCY. Larry is reasonably priced and stands behind his work. He revalved my Viper shocks and it rode remarkably better. Great guy to deal with, and when you call, you deal with him.

Goodwin Performance will fix you up located in Zion, Il. They'll rebuild them, use synthetic oil and change the valving if needed; plus they'll do it extremely quick. Prices are $34 for the complete service on a basic KYB shock (as opposed to one with a reservoir). There's a 10 percent discount for 4 or more shocks on one order. If you want revalving, it's an additional $18 per shock.

Phone is 1-847-872-4001

You're shocks definitely need it with that mileage.
