Hey,
I wrecked my two trailling arms and I don't want to go back with stock. What one's should I buy? I was checking out mountain performance and they seem to have a good set-up, also nicer. The shocks and my a-arms are bent back. Will it screw up more if I don't replace them? Is there a kit where I can go with a rx-1 style suspension w/ no trailling arms?
Thanks

I like the looks of cbperformance. looks nice, lighter, and they seem to have a great rep on here and you need trailing arms unless you are going to get crazy with a redesign

Ditto on the CB perf trailing arms. Give them a look at www.cbperformanceparts.com Maxdlx

if you need arms, socks, and radius rod, think about a whole kit, like a BLT

just a heads up , lighter = weaker , i have seen a few arm from both cb and mt. performance and a few other place bend by just looking at them funny , they may be lighter , but beware they bend by just a little bump ...just my .02

I have the whole cb front end kit, and i jump mine and thrash on it all the time. it is still straight as the day it was new. I did however bend a stock one just by rolling my sled on its side, and not seeing a big rock, put a big ding in it. They will all bend, its just the luck of the draw. maxdlx

I think it all depends on the riding style. I ride groome trail. my 97 600sx had over 9k miles on original front end, no problems. viper now has a tad over 6k miles and it is as new. and I jump moguls and push it, but never any bent anything all depends on riding style

B2SO, have you even seen one of our Trailing arm kits bend? Because I have never had somebody call back disappointed with the strength of our trailing arms. The design of our trailing arms are extremely strong and will be extremely difficult to bend. They can take twice the beating the stock arms can.

That's a generalization. Lighter doesn't always mean weaker.

From what I hear.....aluminum arms are nice and light and fairly strong....however, for some extra $$$ you can get the stronger chrom-molly arms....or for ever more $$$ you can go with carbon fibre trailing arms.....I'm also in the same process....I bent up the left side of my sled a few weeks ago....went with stock radius rods...and a new shock....looking to upgrade my trailing arms.....like the guys said....if you replace something, replace it with something better and stronger

Clearly the A-Arms are a Much weaker structural design then the trailing arm design and we have only had one set of A-arms bend from a customer who was abusing them. Many other arms would bend in the same circumstances. Hwever, if you want to talk to me about A-arms go ahead and shoot but I thought this thread was about trailing arms. Like I said, Good luck breaking our trailing arms.
The A-arms now come with stiffners in them to increase strength for people who intend on jumping thier sleds.

This is a case where if you haven't bent one or watched one bend, maybe not say anything. Max

I bought a trailing arm from a local shop and it came from S.P.I i think, in manitoba and it was 99 bucks cnd funds. I'd rather spend the $99 then fix the tunnel like i had to do. I find that the viper trailing arms are pretty strong and don't bend when they should. I messed up my tunnel a few times cause they didn't give.

I am not going to go into Pro's story because we all know what happened and why they bent, we are taking care of that already and we are going to contact Pro shortly.
Surely we will back up our product if something happens from normal riding conditions. If you are going to purchase these arms, bending them would be the last thing in your mind because most likely it will not happen. If you ever have any problems with them, give us a call and we will definitely help you out.
I have run these arms on my sled for 6000 miles and I by no means am easy on the eqiupment and the arm's are still stock. I was hitting a jump will I was up last weekend that was about 15' tall and landing on the end of the back side of it getting 5-6' of air. We havent had a call up with someone breaking or bending the trailing arms. Extremely strong.

My main riding partner has a set of fabcrafts on his mountain max and they have taken over 5000 miles of hard abuse without any problems at all. They are the carbon fiber shaft ones. He has mountain performance chromoly ones on his mtn viper and they bend just looking at them and he has had to have some of the welds redone.
Give fabcraft a long hard look, they are extremely nice and I would never buy an aftermarket trailing arm that did not have a replacable shaft.
Good luck.
