After my trip up north last week I noticed 1 clutch wieght & roller severly worn & the primary sheave cap bushing laying in the bottom of the pan. What would be the best bang for the buck$, there are alot of options out there?? I have a stock 98 SRX 700 w/ cold air kit & a new 1" 6 pitch compolast track I weigh about 170# & do more trail riding than lake racing. The weights in the primary are 8dn 00 W/ green spring & the secondary has a red spring. If I were to buy all the replacement parts thru yamaha It would cost over $250 not counting any secondary parts. I would like to find a kit to install that is already proven for my sled, without having to do fine tuning.
Thanks if you could HELP. Tony

Buy some new 15.6mm rollers.
Get a set of 8dn-20 weights & load em with 4.5 gram rivets inner & outer.
Get a w-w-w yammie primary spring
Advant-edge 48/40 helix
Stock secondary spring at 80 wrap.

Thanks TURK, Re:Clutch options
Turk, Thanks for your input. I also seen your clutch tuning page GREAT info. I do have a few more questions if you dont mind?? I did not mention this sled is very reliable & gets great gas milage would this set up effect ether? You recomend a advant-edge 48/40 helix were do I find one or who deals w/ them? what do they cost? the one on my SRX is part # 8bv70 w/ the red spring, this would be a 47 correct? as far as the primary weights would I be able to press in the 4.5 gram rivits or do I need special tools-gig ect. Would there be another source for the parts-weights rollers & rivits & a clutch puller ect. or would I be better off dealing w/ the dealer.
THANKS AGAIN Tony

I think turk will tell you confidently that gas mileage will either stay the same or increase, reliability is not affected.
Advant-Edge is located at 2333 Cassel Dr., Hillsdale, Ontario, L0L 1V0, Phone # (705) 835 - 3929. I beleive (correct me if I'm wrong Turk) that Turk likes to add 6* to the initial angle and 3* to the final angle when comparing an Advant-Edge helix to a yamaha or dalton. Therefore a 51/43 might be what the doctor ordered, should act very closely... can be picked up at your yamaha dealer. The one you have now is a 47*.
As far as the primary weights you can install the rivets no problem... if they come empty, all you have to do is get 6 4.5g rivets and peen them over with a hammer (takes a lot of pounding with the 4.5g monsters!) or if you have access to a hydraulic press... that will be easier.
You could find just about every part you wanted by either asking on here or just visiting your dealer they should have them in to you in about 2 days (at least mine always does).
If I said anything that you would like to correct turk, feel free lol..
Hope that helped.

Thanks Change up, Re:Clutch option
Thanks Change up, for the info. I dont have to much knowlege w/ clutches thats why I was looking for the best bolt on kit for the money & reliability. The combo Turk Recomended sounds easy enough for me to handle. He recomended the advant-edge 48/40 helix, you mentioned a yammie 51/43 helix kinda lost me? could you please refresh me on the helix issue? & do you know of any distributors in the north central U.S. area that deal w/ Advant-edge helix or could I run w/ another brand helix or yammie??
Thank you Both for your TIME. Tony

Tony , he was telling you on your helix that if you didnt want to get a advant-edge that the yami helix 51/43 is very similar to the advant-edge 48/40 the curve in the angle is differant that is why the numbers of the angle does not match
