don't know what info you are lookin for on him, but thats for sure not a vintage racer because they didn't have the trailing arms. sure does look like it fits tho! what are you trying to figure out, and whats all the jumbled words in the 1) and 2) for?
that is correct for that sled, the 1978 yamaha ssr 440 did have a trailing arm suspension.

I was just wondering if anyone has any dealings with him. This looks like a pretty acurate ssr, but I have not seen it up close or in person. I have spoken with a gentlemen who has built several RXL repros that are currently racing. He wants to do a ssr for me, but he is much more expensive. Will need to do some more research!!!!
The 1) and 2) items are just copies of two different posts that I found by him on vintage web sites

I will get some pictures up for you guys tomorrow of an actual SSR, my dad drove a total of 12 hours today going to pick it up and the thing looks INCREDIBLE. We fired it up and I have never heard such a nice sounding sled. There are some differences I can spot with my eye right now but that thing looks pretty accurate. Some of the frame work is alittle different.

I would give a left nut to own a 340 srx! then I would give my right nut to own Bruce's SSR! - yes their ssr is a correct original sled. Talked to Bruce lastnight and he is a very proud fella. Told that even the original titanium cleats are in great shape ! What a find!!!!

I will get pictures and videos up later tonight for you guys, the sled sounds absolutely incredible, such a nasty tone to it. He is dying to take it up north this year to ride on a ice track that a guy plows out every year. I keep on telling him no but I think he is gonna do it, I am scared to even sit on the sled. We will get it fired up for you and let you hear it, we arent gonna drive it yet though.
BTW Monty, it is in our show room with chains strapped around it that are bolted to the floor. LMAO

Just came accross this cool pic and story...
1978 was a pivotal year for oval track racing and the beginning of the end for factory involvement in USSA Sno-Pro competition. The end was not yet in sight however, and Yamaha joined the fray with the iconic SSR. There were never more on the line than seen in this shot from the Ironwood Olympus that season.
