Last year I noticed that my hand warmers were not working much, so I have been doing some updates to my 02 SRX and decided to see if I had power to them. Well, there isn't any. I checked the wires that go back to the main harness and they looked fine, it is just a 3-4 inch run until it enters a bunch of wires grouped together on the left side. Anyone have any ideas? Could it be the cdi? I have had a few problems on cold days when the tach, head light, tail light and dash lights would not come on after it sat there for a while after riding. After a few minutes or if I shut it down and restarted it, everything worked fine. Someone suggested the Load Control Relay, but all these things don't run through that. Atleast I don't think so from looking at the wiring diagram in the back of the manual. Also, every once in a while after a hard run and letting off the throttle, and then getting back on it the sled would bog down to nothing. I had to let the rpm's go under 3000 and then it was fine. I figure that is the TORS acting up. What does everyone think?

Also, is the cdi located under the engine? If not, where is it?
Thanks all!!
Thanks all!!
When sitting on the SRX, the CDI is under the left side panel. Its very common that the harness will rub thru under the motor, but the only way to tell is pull it back once you unhook the head lights and tach.

Mr. Sled
Left side panel above the panel, or under the clutch area? Thanks

inderneath the black vented side panel, you have to unbolt the panel, NOT on the back side in the clutch area...its a black box, aprox 6"x6"

Thanks guys, now the big question. Is there anyway to test the CDI? Or do you just put another one in?
Thanks

no there's no way to test a cdi at least that is what i've been told.If EVERYTHING else tests out fine (staitor, wireing, warmeres, grounds ect.)
well then you know make sure that you've tested every that can be tested once, twice and if all your testing leads one answer what else could it be.GOOD LUCK
