I am going to make my own 136" rail extensions for my '02 viper ER.
I just need to know how thick the stock is. Could someone please measure the thickest part of the extension so I know what size of stock to start with.
I do not need the height or width as I think I have that figured out. But if you are bored you are welcome to post those measurements also. I am going to mill them out of 6061 T6 alum. Also do you think I should make a cross shaft to put in to make it stronger? I will be machining a tab to go in the rail slot, but will not be extending the hyfax. Also if you think the extensions on the market are way better then a homemade set let me know with your reasoning. If I did purchse a set, it would be Tracks USA, as i think they would hold up the best. Anyone that is running the non hyfax extending ones let me know if you have had any durability issues (bending or breaking). Thanks
