Hi,
I have a 2004 Venom 600 and I would like for it to stand up if I pin the throttle (currently the skis don't come off the ground at all). Just a foot or two off the ground would be nice, nothing extreme like my friend's sleds (they stand almost straight up - stock Rev 800).
I heard transfer rods can do this. Is this correct? Also, who has the easist transfer rods to change settings since somedays I don't want the skis to come off the ground.
Thanks.

You can loosen your limiter straps but then when you don't want the skis to lift you have to tighten them back up again. Doesn't take alot of time to do, just kind of a pain to do unless the sled is on it's side. For transfer rods, most people seem to like the Bender and Maxx Perf. ones.
where can you get the bender and maxx perf ones??

Ya I let the limiter straps out, but still no go. I'll go to their web sites and see what have. Would Viper tranfser rods work as well? I assume they would.

you cant turn if the skis are in the air. you give up slot car like performance to "look cool". just my opinion. but you give up something to get something. ski

I agree. No advantage in it unless you are boondocking. You want transfer when you are racing but not skis way up in the air, only a couple inches at most. Viper rods will work but they dont have as much adjustment and aren't as easy to adjust as the aftermarket's are.

I agree. Be careful what you wish for. Looks real cool but if you can't steer it you can't ride it. Straight ahead stuff maybe but come out a high speed corner, get on all the power and loose your front end hook up. The rest may be out of your hands.

wow, you can get them a foot or 2 off the ground w/out transfer rods? i can't get that w/my viper w/transfer rods. mine only come up a couple of inches and its perfect, don't want them any higher. transfer rods aren't going to get you what you want. proaction suspension sucks for transfer no matter what. my advice, get a different suspension!

Listen to TimeBomb. A foot for ski lift is incredible, not to mention two feet!. Maybe it feels liek that high but it really isnt. Mine, with the rods fullout and limiter straps all the way loose can only get half a foot on a good take off down a trail or something from a stopped start. You will never get it to wheelie that high, sorrry bud, I was hoping to show off too, but what can ya do...
However, liek said above, buying a Cat suspension for example will allow for nice wheelies. Me and my rather large friend were on his 98 500 ZL and we almost flipped it backwards everytime we hammered the gas while two up. What an awsome feeling!

cut .400 of an inch off the stock rods and use the smallest shim on top .... set center shock to max and full rate adjuster to hard .... it will lift the skis.
i have a 97sx 700 transfer set up tight on the coupling rods maybe 1/2" gap, limiter straps set about 1 1/8", preload front center shock stiff with a 2.8 rate spring....NEVER feels like the sled lifts the skis that well...had a photo taken of take off and the skis lift quite well....SHOCKED and surprised me that is what it looks like i never thought the skis came off the snow. I think hooking up with a good track is more important than lifting your skis. If you want lift i think that mountain performance transfer kit might be what your looking for maybe to much but check into it....CP

Spend your money,on a better track,I think you have the finger track???I had one on my viper and now a ripsaw and what a diff...
Well i have the Bender transfer rods and an 1 1/4 track and when i launch my ski's are off the ground about 5 to 6 inches for until i let off the gas or until i get to about 80mph. This year i removed my suspension to replace slides and bearings and i do have a little dart so i let my limiter straps out and now i do have more ski lift, i think around 10 inches my darting is almost gone but the down side is that my carbides will not grab the ice, i plow in the corners. 3 weeks ago i came to a corner just after i let the limiter straps out and it did not grab oin the ice and i slid into a log and bent my trailing arm. If i would have left them alone i would not have bent my trailing arm.
I wish i would have added shims to remove the darting or a differnt ski.

No, I'd like to get them a foot or two off the ground. It's just for show in the fields, ...that's why I asked about getting transfer rods that adjust easily. So when showtime is over, then I can put them back to normal.

Already have a 1.25 ripsaw, still not able to lift off the ground. I have reverse, electric start (i.e. battery) and stock exhaust, so there's alot of weight in front. So that's not helping.
How far can I let my limiter straps out, ...I have them about 4 threads from the end now.

Sale me your electric start... That will help.
