Getting ready to fog today. How long does it usually take for a sled to get to operating temperature before you begin to fog ? Thanks for the the advice on this topic. There sure are a number of methods on summerizing the sled. One other question...Do guys drain their carbs and if so is it an easy job? I have read the some guys just use stabilzer in their gas when fogging and if any gas is in the carbs it has stabilzer in it. As a newbie to this stuff it seems like whatever method guys are using it works for them. Diceman
PS- Do you take the battery out when storing or just disconnect ?

Diceman, We usually wait until we feel warm, not hot, running board heat exchangers.

Yep wait till the running board on the brake side (left sitting on the sled) is warm, then you know it made it through the whole system.

Diceman, I drain my tank and run the sled until it runs dry. I also drain the float bowls once the tank has been run dry.

Like i posted in the other thread i leave freash gas in the tank and in the carbs with a double does of sti-bil never any problems. and yes you should take out your battery, that way you can charge it once anawile
Thats how i do it others may do it different.....

I'm not an expert by any means but I'm with Daman on this. Just my instinct tells me that it's better to have the lines full of fuel with stabilizer to prevent varnishing than to drain the lines and still have small amounts of gas dry in them.
I drain the carb bowls in the fall before starting the machine for pre season prep.
