Went to Twin Lakes this last weekend for one last trip of the season. Took the SRX this trip since I am waiting on the RX-1 for the 06 rails to be installed.
Anyhow, we make our way to Lake Gogebic and ran into a guy pulling into a place on the 05 orange F7. I started to chat and ask how he liked it etc...
Nice guy...and I said I was curious to run one (as he was walking into the bar)
He said he would go for a spin and geared back up.
First run, dead stop me him and my bud on his Cat 800 twin. I stabbed it and it was a gross slaughter. By the time I hit 100 on the speedo, I was AT LEAST 40-50 yards ahead. Neither one of them even came close.
Second run....rolling start from about 20 or so...same thing...no comparison.
The 800 twins do run good if tuned right. That I know. I have another friend that runs one and I really want to run him next season with the SRX. Top end he was getting my RX this year. Midrange I was spanking him with the air kit on it.
I have been running the RX the past 2 seasons and have only buzzed the SRX around the house here and let a friend run it here and there if we take a trip up north. I have not really had a chance to run aganst anything but I knew the thing was running damn good once I had it on the lake.
I had found it in the box in 03 so I picked it up for a spare since it was such a good deal ($5500 out the door at my dealer)
I jetted it wown a bit, Clutched it and put reeds in it. This thing is a friggin rocket and I would really like to run it against my RX next season. I think it just might take the RX. And I have the CPR air and clutch kit on that sled.
Damn I don't think I will ever get rid of this thing. I still LOVE the feel of a good running triple!
I was just curious who out there has run the F's? They seem pretty slow to me.
Give me an 03 to run. I heard they were the fastest. I would LOVE to run one, cus this SRX is a friggin rocket!
Was pretty sweet when we were done and the guy shook my hand and said "thanks for kicking my A$$"
He was a decent guy and was glad I was not saying much. I told him I was just curious since I have not really ran anything with it.

DUDE, THEY ARE SLOW. OUT OF THE BOX!!! BUT GET A GUY WHO KNOWS HOW TO SET-UP THEM UP, AND THEIR JUST ABOUT UNBEATABLE. MOST CHANGE ECU, TIMING KEY, BIG BORE THEM, RUN NOS, THAN ITS A WHOLE DEFFERENT BALL GAME. ANOTHER FACTOR IS MOST GUYS I KNOW WITH F-7,s SAY THE 03/04 WERE THE FASTEST. 05 DIAMOND DRIVE SCUFFED MPH DOWN. I HAVE RACED HUNDREDS OF THEM, SOME I CAN BEAT, SOME I CAN,T!! 3:16 (tony)
everyone`s sled is fast, if you big bore-ecu-nos ` them
As i heard, F7`s are really fast out of the box, but even faster with adjustable fuel pressure, to lean it out a little.. Most people i`ve talked to, tell me that a F7 beats most of the 800`s (stock)

I've raced quite a few of them, at the drag races. Some I beat, some I loose to. I like racing them because they are strong runner's, forces me to be on my game. Then if I do win, I know I've earned it!
