My track is drilled in a 3 x 1 1/4" hole pattern. You do not have to remove the track from the sled to do it, just tip it on its side and go at it. I used a piece of wood and marked the edges of my windows and the edges of my track. Using the distance between the windows (dont drill outside the windows) I spaced my 1 1/4" holes equal distances between one another and the windows. Once I had my center of hole marks I drilled them with a 1/4" bit. I cut the piece of wood to be exactly the same width as my track, then pounded a nail half way into each end and bent the nail over so that the piece of wood will be exactly center and give me a way to repeat a consistant drill pattern between each set of lugs. Using my 1/4" bit and my template I predrilled each hole. Then with my 1 1/4" bit I went to town drilling out the track. Spraying down the hole saw bit with WD-40 makes the job sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much easier, holes drill much faster and easier, does not work your drill nearly as hard, and produces less smoke (besides WD-40 smell alot better than burning vulcanized rubber). It is a simple one person job and can be completed in an afternoon. Good luck.
